Questions to address before we begin our 'carbon year'

Here are a few questions that need to be addressed before we start so if you have some suggestions, alternatives or more questions post them here. Nothing will be finalized until an actual meeting but I think it would cut down on time to collaborate beforehand.

1. How should we calculate our carbon ration?
   • Individual reduction plan – Current use reduced by a percentage each year.
   • Same amount for everyone
   • Allowance for work commutes
   • Allowance for green energy

• Do we include air travel?

1. Should there be a penalty for going over the ration?
   • What amt. in $ per what amt. in lb/co2 (I think most CRAGs do a few cents per lb.)

• Where should the money go at the end of the year

1. Should we have a carbon ration lottery at the end of the year?
   • If, as a group, we are under our goal at the end of the year we could use a portion of the unused ration in a lottery.

• Should people who go over their goal be included in the lottery?

I’m sure we’ll come up with a lot more questions as time goes on but this is a good place to start. I’d like to know what you think.
