Hi Craggers,
I am currently preparing to undertake some research into CRAGs as part of my Msc in Sustainable Development and Environmental Policy. My research aims to investigate the concept of personal carbon trading which is, as I’m sure you’re aware, closely linked to the practices of CRAGs. More specifically I’m interested in the equity implications of limiting carbon emissions and would like to determine how different individuals and groups are affected by efforts to reduce their carbon footprints. Are there any problems you’ve come across in trying to reduce your carbon footprints? Is it harder/easier living in a rural rather than urban area? Does the type of property you happen to live in mean you are at an advantage/disadvantage? I would love to hear from you.
Also, as part of my research I would like to organise some focus groups with various CRAGs to help determine how groups of people sharing experiences, views and advice can help in achieveing carbon reductions. If you are a member of a CRAG and you think your group may be interested in participating I would be particularly grateful to hear from you. I am currently based in Cardiff but am able to travel to speak to people. I would be more than happy to share my research findings, when complete, with wider CRAGs if anyone is interested.

Thanks for your time, David Jeffery
