Hi,
I thought I’d bring you up to date with the Brighton CRAG.
I attending the Brighton Climate change meeting just over a month ago after being asked to go and give a little talk about CRAGs and I am hoping some of their members will attend our first meeting.
At the most recent Brighton Climate change meeting I met a girl from the Brighton film college who is making a film about carbon reduction and she is interested in interviewing myself and Mat.
I have met with some members of the Sustainable commission at Brighton and Hove council and they seem very interested in what CRAGs are doing. There is a possibility that they may be able to help us out with venues for meetings and the like.
Our first meeting is next Wednesday 14th March at 7pm and will be held at my house in Brighton so if anyone is interested in coming along to that please drop me an e-mail on and I will give you directions.
If anyone has any suggestions on a good way to tackle a first meeting they would be more than welcome.

Good news on the new CRAG. Here is my $0.02 worth, hopefully useful:
1) Start out with a very brief intro on carbon, the climate and why we are making it worse
2) Show what we need to do to fix it(technically). ie how much and by when
3) Describe an individuals carbon footprint and very roughly how to calculate
4) Go into the CRAG “Carbon Year”
5) Explain, with sensitivity to the cash aspect, the CRAG rules
6) End up asking everyone to attempt to calculate last years footprint and bring to next meeting
7) Set up next meeting
Overall try to keep it open rather than a presentation. Get people involved and encourage them to say what they think
If you need help with any of it I’d be delighted to come along, its not too far away for me. I have presentation slides that do all the above you can adapt. Andy Ross tells me you need help with footprints too?
