Campaign against Climate Change are organising this public meeting on Thursday November 8th, at the Friends Meeting House, Euston Road, London, at 7.00pm.

With George Monbiot, author and journalist, John Sauven, Director of Greenpeace UK, and Phil Thornhill, National Coordinator, CCC.

Monbiot is headlining, and no doubt there will also be discussion about organising the Saturday 8 December demo.

The CCC public meeting on 7 November was packed out and the speakers were excellent. George Monbiot devoted a lot of time to a rallying call to carbon rationing, and yes, used the phrase ‘rationing’! He said it was the only politically viable way and the simplest way.

Also of particular interest to CRAGgers is that he said we should be thinking ‘big is beautiful’, ie, in terms of large-scale non-fossil electricty generation, not micro-generation. So his message seemed to add up to: cap + carbon rationing + big technological projects.
