Dear All,
This Wednesday you are all warmly invited to the formal opening of ‘One World’ from 9:30am and the celebration of the opening in the evening.
As well as selling excellent cake and fair trade teas and coffees it will be a
base for campaigning on climate change issues.
There will be wireless internet access and a few computer terminals and a
small library of books on energy and climate change.
This Wednesday, at the centre, we will also be having a
talking about our new climate change think tank to advise various
sectors of society primarily politicians. We are very lucky to have
Colin Challen MP, chair of the all party parliamentary committee on
climate change to speak at the opening. The programme for
Wednesday is as follows.
Wednesday 11th July, One World Cafe, Leigh Street, London WC1H 9EW
09:30am – Meeting Opening, informal introductions.
09:45am – Steve Burak, Introduction to ‘One World’ Centre
09:50am – Stephen Stretton about the climate change think tank
& campaign for stronger targets.
10:00am – Prof. David MacKay – Energy and Climate Change
10:15am – Colin Challen MP – Speech & Opening of Shop
10:30am – Tea break
11am – Informal discussion about the programme for the think tank &
the One World centre.
11:30am – Dr Adrian Wrigley – The taxation system and how it can be fixed.
12:00am Questions, discussion
12:30am Close
7:00pm – Opening party of One World – free cakes and drink! (see below)

close to Kings Cross Station so it’s ideal for those traveling from
Cambridge.
