Workshop on 10 Feb for new Leeds group

Bill Phelps

Hi all

Just signed up and wondered if any of you are involved in helping Colin Challen MP with the introductory Leeds CRAG workshop day here in Leeds on Sat 10 Feb.

A good number of people signed up for it when George Monbiot came through on his book tour in November – but I believe that many of them haven’t had any details about the day. Colin, of course, is extremely busy and not always easy to get hold of. I also heard that his email was down before Christmas – drowned out with spam or something.

I assume that Colin’s not doing this on his own, so if anyone can get any details to me pronto, I’ll put them up on the new Stop Climate Chaos website http://www.leedstidal.org/sccleeds/index.html and maybe circulate some of TIDAL’s mailing list (1,000+ people in the Leeds area interested in making poverty history).

Thanks a lot

You should talk to Robin (goto http://www.carbonrationing.org.uk/user/11/contact). Anyway he will probably respond, he was at one of the Leeds meetings. Think it would be good if someone that was less busy took over Leeds CRAG coordination and Colin was promoted to chairman! p.s. can you post this to Leeds as well please.

John

p.s. just noticed that 5 people were trying to join the Leeds list. I have just added them all. Very sorry if you were one of them.

A bit more info

Just had this in today and have posted it on SCC Leeds website http://www.leedstidal.org/sccleeds

The main object is to get the process started between the participants of accounting for their carbon, finding ways of reducing and reprting back. It may also consider whether tere should be hard and fast carbon rations or whether to take the annual reduction approach, of course the two are not necessarily exclusive.

So if you live in or around Leeds and are serious about cutting your carbon, just turn up to the Leeds CRAG workshop at Leeds Civic Hall on Saturday 10 Feb 10am (till about noon).
