Present: Iain, Liz and Andy
Apologies: Lusi, Irene, Daryl, Kat, Sunny, Cathy, Cindy, Jake
First of all, Congratulations, Kat, for being one of the three winners of Oxfams’s Carbon Challenge and along with (two other CRAGgers!) giving the politicians a hard time on their home turf!

1st quarter carbon: Liz and Andy found they had managed to keep their carbon below 600kg for the first quarter. A large portion of Andy’s was a train trip to Switzerland at Easter (Glasgow-Geneva-Glasgow ~ 300kgCO2). Iain’s emissions were around 1 tonne with car and heating making up the largest part. We all look forward to the warmer summer months when we should see carbon savings on both and especially heating! Please feel free to post your 1st quarter estimates on this thread.
News from the CRAG network: Andy reported on the CRAG gathering in Hebden Bridge http://www.carbonrationing.org.uk/fora/threads/crag-shared-values-from-t…
and the latest on the Big Green Challenge application

Food and other less countable emissions: We were reminded that this was an issue that Irene and Liz raised last time we didn’t have time for. We decided to encourage Glasgow CRAGgers to post links (or send links to Andy to post) to relevant articles/info on the gCRAG website page.
Consultation on Scottish Climate Change Bill: Andy had written responses to some of the consultation questions. In the end we did not have time to put together a group response but both Andy and Lusi submitted their efforts on closing date of 23rd April.
Local action: Andy suggested gCRAG could offer itself to the Transition Town initiative as a watchdog/supporter of the council efforts to cut its municipal emissions by 20% between 2007 and 2012. [post meeting note: both Jake and Andy have contacted the council seeking a copy of the council’s carbon management plan – it is not yet clear whether this exists!]
Other post meeting news:
Transition Town “mulling” continues to gather momentum in Glasgow. Contact Jake if you are interested in getting involved. http://transitiontowns.org/TransitionNetwork/TransitionNetwork

Next meeting: It won’t be in Bank Street as Andy is moving south of the river (in a bid to cut some more carbon)! It would be nice do something outside in July. Any suggestions?
