Agenda for meeting 24 May

Hi, it would be great if people could comment/add to the following:

1. Climate change bill consultation – It has been discussed (see previous thread) that we can respond to the consultation as a group as well as as individuals. We need to discuss what we want to send exactly. **If anyone has filled one in/would be willing to prepare a draft can you please circulate it? NB we won’t have much time after the meeting to send it to Defra!

2. Publicity and workshops – Northern Green Gathering (http://www.nggonline.org.uk/) have asked whether we’d be interested to have a stall there “Ideally, you would bring a small group of people – 4? – enough to maybe keep a stall going for most of the Gathering – eg Friday [10 August] to Sunday [12 August] tea time?”, and maybe hold a couple of workshops. The gathering will be near Ponterfact, and (I think) they’d give us free tickets. Maybe we could discuss whether/who would like to go, whether we need to get any material together/what the workshops could be like.

3. Comms with members – it has been discussed that some people might prefer receiving emails instead of using the Forum. We need to discuss whether people should sign up to another mailing list so that the main mailing list can stay low volume – but I think it could get confusing if half of us prefer this and the rest are using the Forum! So we need to discuss either “automatically” subscribing new members for email notifications for the leeds Forum only – which would be about the same as using a mailing list but more flexible; or whether we start having some/all discussions over email rather than on the Forum.

4. Riseup – we are currently using a free Riseup mailing list and email account – perhaps we could discuss paying them a nominal amount? They rely on donations to keep providing this service (http://riseup.net/).

5. Discussing results from the calculator.

6. If we have time and cake left we can do fun things like discussing tips on reducing carbon emissions! :)
