Energy Saving Trust advice line experience

I have been thinking about ways to reduce the amount of energy needed to heat our semi-detached solid-walled house. I recently phone the Energy Saving Trust advice line (0800 512 012) to ask about suppliers of solid wall insulation (exterior cladding). The person I spoke to knew what I was talking about, which I hadn’t expected, to be honest. He was clearly surfing the web to answer my question, and said he couldn’t be seen to be recommending any firm in particular, but he found this site for me: http://www.inca-ltd.org.uk/ The site has a useful-looking list of suppliers who apparently are prepared to apply insulating cladding to individual houses.

I haven’t contacted any of the suppliers yet, but I thought I would recount my experience of the advice line and recommend others to use it.
