The cap and share people have let me know about this lecture by Peter Barnes, taking place in London, Oxford, Cambridge. Sounds interesting and I aim go to the London one, not least to leaflet about CRAGs! I know we are different than cap and share, but there are lots of cross-over ideas, and we ought to understand all the other potential solutuions that are out there.

Peter Barnes is a successful US social entrepreneur, researcher and
writer. In 1983 he co-founded www.workingassets.com which pioneered
charity credit cards. Peter now focusses on how we can create a new
ethical and economic framework to “reinvent the commons” with a
strong third sector of independent trusts linked to “cap and rebate”
schemes that involve all citizens in stabilising the climate.

Peter’s books include Who owns the sky? Our Common Assets And The
Future Of Capitalism (2001), Capitalism 3.0: A Guide to Reclaiming the
Commons (2006) and Climate Solutions: A Citizen’s Guide (November
2007)

His advocacy of a “Sky Trust” which applies these ideas to stabilising
the climate has attracted the interest of commentators such as Robert
Reich, Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton, Bill McKibben,
author of The End of Nature, Richard Parker, author of John Kenneth
Galbraith: His Life, His Politics, His Economics and Robert F.
Kennedy, Jr. of the US Natural Resources Defense Council
