I cribbed most of the content of the above from PIRC’s amazingly informative Climate Safety report, which I thoroughly recommend to everyone who thinks Lord Turner’s recommendations are reasonable and sufficient. It can be downloaded from:

By it’s own admission, the Lord Turner’s Climate Change Committee report recommends a carbon trajectory that results in a more than 50% chance of exceeding 2 degs, a 10% chance of exceeding 3 degs and 1% chance of exceeding 4 degs. And this involves global emissions peaking by 2016 and 4% annual cuts thereafter. Full CCC report downloadable from:

Encouragingly, here in Glasgow we are finding we can go pretty quickly to 2tCO2 by zero cost straightforward lifestyle changes. Next 2 tonnes no doubt will be more of a challenge. Then again, life wouldn’t be much fun without a challenge, would it…
