I live in downtown Toronto with my husband and son. I am an engineer who is self-employed as an R&D consultant and enjoy working from my home office while still spending a lot of time with my young son.

My personal carbon output last year was 3.8 tonnes. I live in a semi-detached house with three adults and a 3-year old child. We have a forced air furnace and a hot water tank - both run on natural gas. We have a backyard vegetable garden, a front yard perennial garden (which requires minimal watering), and hang dry all of our clothes. We do not own a car but I am a member of Autoshare. We live minutes from the Toronto subway system and within walking and/or cycling distance of community services, friends and family. We usually fly once per year within NA for the purpose of visiting family. We also enjoy getting out of the city to a summer cottage which is located 200km away and is only accessible by car.
