detailsnameOli backgroundI work for a consultancy on energy and carbon management. I used to work in Local Government and have undertaken community work on energy and renewable energy and climate change before. I produced strategy documents and worked to raise peoples awareness, corporately and in the general public. I have completed an Eco Team and an MSc that looked into emissions, energy, renewable energy + building materials and people. I am crap at organising myself and always overdrawn. I know that we need to make reductions and I have never had any problems in accomplishing goals. The problem comes when the goal is over a long time period and is mixed in with all the other goals. That is why I wan to be a Cragger, if I can make a 20%, then 50% and then 80% reduction over time, why can't everyone else? |

carbonprofileI live in a 2 bed fourth floor flat. I think it would have been built after the war so forties early fifties. I live with a friend and we have an old gas boiler, a hot water tank and radiators. At the moment the system is faulty so we are using the good old electric immersion.... I use a mixture of tube, bus, train, cycle, run and walk. My biggest challenge is going to be longer distance train journeys as I do like a bit of a wander - I have recently given hitch hiking a go to tackle this. I am a meat eater, although I am trying to cut down, I like to buy local, although I am new to London and have no idea where local is, I try not to fly, but I love skiiing and my brother lives in Seattle.... In general I suppose I am like everyone else, happy with lightbulbs and switching things off but finding it difficult to stay focused on a trajectory of reduction..... That is why I have joined expertiseI have experience of energy conservation, footprinting and grass roots work. Plus I have made a couple of short films with other peoples help |
