I live in a mid-sized apartment while our house is being renovated. The apartment is pretty drafty with unknown amounts of insulation and a very old heat pump/ac unit. The electricity costs here are very high, but we do keep the thermostat low (66-67 in the winter) and try to block the drafts under the doors and windows. (And wear sweaters!) Once the house is renovated we will have much better insulation, windows, heat, appliances, etc. (Can't wait!) I don't currently own a car - when I do need one I borrow one, or I take the train to work. Not so good about using the buses in town, since it always seems easier to just drive to the grocery store, bank, etc. I've been getting better about consolidating car trips to run errands - this is much easier when you have to ask someone to use their car first! I've been paying more attention to where my food comes from, and I don't eat cows or pigs. I do eat fish and poultry, but I'm gradually weaning off of them, or at least buying as local as possible.
