My wife and I live in a brick semi that we're retrofitting in stages. We avoided owing a car for many years, then joined Autoshare from 1998 - 2002 before getting a car, used largely for work. We fly once a year (ironically to conferences on Applied Ethics). My Ecological footprint is average, 7.65 hectares, and of that food is by far the largest fraction (omnivore, processed/non-local). Our back garden is full of shrubs and the front with an old Norway maple. I look forward to both perhaps being used for spin-farming.
