carbonprofileI was just over 5 tonnes in 2007, though that takes full responsibility for the family car. I'm aiming for 4 tonnes in 2008, with the support of the Wychwood CRAG. I live with my wife and two small children in a 400 year old semi-detached house in the Oxfordshire countryside. The walls and windows are hard to insulate but we've made a lot of improvements with draft-proofing and loft insulation. We installed a wood-burning stove and recently upgraded our gas boiler to a much more efficient condensing model. We use an Electrisave clip-on meter to help us reduce unnecessary electricity use; the rest is bought from Good Energy. We have a second-hand diesel estate which is pretty efficient on long journeys but not for short trips. I almost always cycle to work, and the childrens' school is within walking distance. We won't fly in 2008. footprintexpertisefootprinting (especially online), video, wood-burning stoves |
